About winery
Cmrečnjak Winery evolved from a modest family farm into one of the well-recognized wineries of the Međimurje region. The story began in the early 1990s when the Cmrečnjak family started developing their vineyards and wine production on a small estate. A key milestone came in 1992 when they fully committed to winemaking and received certification of geographical origin, soon followed by early awards and recognition.
The winery was founded by Rajko Cmrečnjak, whose dedication and perseverance laid the foundation for today’s estate. His son Marko Cmrečnjak continues the family legacy, bringing a modern approach to winemaking and producing wines that regularly win awards at national and international competitions.
Today, the winery cultivates around 27 hectares of vineyards, including the renowned Mađerkin breg, one of the most prestigious vineyard locations in Međimurje. Strong emphasis is placed on grape quality, modern cellar technology, and continuous investment in vineyard development.
Cmrečnjak Winery follows the philosophy of “quality of tradition”, combining family heritage, innovation, and a constant pursuit of excellence in wines that express the character of the Međimurje terroir.
